Lia was born in Tskhinvali (capital of “South Ossetian autonomic district”) in 1952. Graduated Tskhinvali pedagogic institute. Was working as a history teacher in different schools. Husband was killed in 1991 during the ethnic conflict in Tskhivnali region between Georgians and Ossetians highly manipulated by the Kremlin. During 1990’s was living in Rustavi; was one of the leader of NGO supporting families of victims of wars. At the end of 1990’s returned and was living in Tskhinvali neighboring village Ergnety. During Russian-Georgian war of 2008 her house, as majority of settlements around was burnt. After returning back she created a Museum of War/Russian occupation in this house.
