Malkhaz was born in 1963 in Tbilisi, in a family of active members of the Evangelist-Baptist community. He graduated the history faculty of the Tbilisi State university. From the university times he started practice in old Hebrew language. He joined the collegium of the translation of the Bible in modern Georgian language. In 1990’s he became a Bishop of the Georgian Evangelist-Baptist church. Still serves in church and is known as one of the active supporter of human rights and democratic values.
