Eskender Bariev

The witness shares his personal story of transition as a representative of the Crimean Tatar community. Eskender is a Ukrainian Crimean Tatar politician, member of the Mejlis of the Crimean Tatar people, chairman of the Crimean Tatar Resource Center, and coordinator of the Liberate Crimea movement. He was born in Namangan, Uzbek SSR. He has a higher education, resided in Molodezhnoye settlement of Simferopolskiy Rayon of the Autonomous Republic of Crimea. Graduated from the Crimean Medical University named after Georgievsky, Faculty of Medicine of the Academy of Medical Sciences of Ukraine. In 2001, he graduated from the Faculty of Medicine at St. George’s University, the first medical faculty and internship. In 2007 he completed his postgraduate course at the National Academy of Public Administration under the President of Ukraine, Department of Social and Humanitarian Policy. He is married, and has two sons.
