She is a retired Chemical Scientist currently living in Vanadzor, Armenia. After receiving her Ph.D. from the Institute of Organoelement Compounds of the USSR Academy of Sciences in Moscow in 1979, she returned to her native town Vanadzor (then Kirovakan), where she worked in the All-Union Institute of Polymer Adhesives until 2000.
