Eduard is originally from Baku, Azerbaijan, where he worked as a toolmaker in Bakelektrobytpribor plant until the Armenian pogroms and their expulsion from Baku, following the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict. He and his family became refugees in Armenia, where they now live in a village nearby Yerevan.
